Finance Sec. Go rallies economic leaders at 5th SEIAC meeting to boost tech supply chain and Luzon economic corridor

Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go joined key economic leaders at the 5th Semiconductor and Electronics Industry Advisory Council (SEIAC) Meeting to drive forward strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering the competitiveness, infrastructure, and global positioning of the Philippines’ semiconductor and electronics sector.

As the country’s premier export economic driver, the semiconductor industry remains a top priority for the Marcos administration’s economic agenda. The council focused its discussions on reinforcing supply chain resilience, streamlining logistics, and upgrading critical infrastructure and utilities to ensure uninterrupted, high-capacity operations capable of attracting cutting-edge global investments.

A major highlight of the meeting was Secretary Go’s update on the Luzon Economic Corridor. He emphasized the accelerating interest from international partner countries eager to participate in the corridor’s development.

“Broader global participation in the Luzon Economic Corridor will drastically strengthen our regional connectivity, enhance our national economic resilience, and solidify the Philippines’ position as an indispensable hub in global tech supply chains,” Secretary Go remarked.

By prioritizing robust infrastructure and stable power and water utilities, the government aims to lower operational costs for manufacturers, foster a highly competitive business ecosystem, and ultimately create thousands of high-quality, high-tech jobs for Filipinos.

The high-level meeting underscored a unified, whole-of-government approach to industrial growth. Joining Secretary Go were several of the nation’s top economic and trade officials, including:

  • Executive Secretary Ralph Recto

  • Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo

  • Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso Panga

  • Clark Development Corporation (CDC) PCEO Agnes Devanadera

  • Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Chairman Atty. Jerry Marasigan

The collaborative efforts of these agencies highlight the government’s commitment to cutting red tape, maximizing the potential of special economic zones, and providing a seamless, investor-friendly environment for the electronics manufacturing sector.
