Attached agencies under the Department of Transportation (DOTr) have contributed almost PHP90 billion to the national government in the last 10 years, contributing to national development, government resources, infrastructure development and better opportunities for Filipinos.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) dividend remittances will help the government in building more infrastructure projects, health and social programs, and security services, among others.
Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez noted that the continued increase in contributions was made possible by each of the agency’s efficient operations and strong financial performance.
From FY 2016 to 2025, proceeds from the agencies such as the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) reached PHP41.51 billion; Manila International Authority (MIAA) with PHP25.43 billion; and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) with PHP14.87 billion.
Other agencies such as the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) contributed PHP4.16 billion; Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) with PHP2 billion; and Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) with PHP1.51 billion.
Beyond the past 10 years, PPA contributed a total of PHP62.3 billion from 1986 – 2025 ; MIAA with PHP34.6 billion from 2011 – 2025; and CAAP with PHP22.5 billion from 2008 – 2025.
Secretary Lopez stressed that these contributions to state coffers fuel government, social, infrastructure and economic programs.
Under Republic Act No. 7656 or the Dividends Law, GOCCs are mandated to remit at least 50 percent of their annual net earnings to the national government.
