Charlie Villaseñor, a prominent Asia supply chain leader and the Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PISM) and PASIA, expressed his deep humility and gratitude following a recent recognition from the Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary, Atty. Randy Escolango.
Villaseñor praised Atty. Escolango’s unwavering commitment to reforming the nation’s healthcare system, calling it an inspiration and a privilege to contribute to such a critical shared mission.
“Meaningful transformation is never easy—it requires perseverance, patience, and the courage to stay focused despite distractions,” Villaseñor noted.
Addressing the complexities of public sector reform, Villaseñor emphasized that true transformation requires looking past unfounded noise.
Throughout his career, he has learned that not all criticism or negative publicity is evidence-based. For Villaseñor, the ultimate priority remains staying firmly anchored to facts, integrity, and delivering tangible results that genuinely elevate public service.
“I will continue to do my part as I promised at the very start to our hardworking and fully dedicated DOH Secretary, Dr. Ted Herbosa, with humility and determination,” Villaseñor stated.
Villaseñor brings high-level international expertise to this institutional reform. Designated as a Senior Supply Chain Advisor under the LEAP Program of the United States Department of State, he acknowledges that substantial work lies ahead.
He remains focused on strengthening the DOH’s supply chain, procurement, and logistics systems, ensuring that collaborative institutional efforts translate into efficient healthcare delivery for every Filipino.
“The best measure of our work will always be the positive impact it has on the lives of our countrymen,” Villaseñor concluded. “Thank you for the trust and encouragement. It inspires me to keep serving.”
