Philippine Airlines (PAL) advanced its long-term fleet modernization strategy at the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow, unveiling a series of strategic agreements that will shape the airline’s next generation of widebody operations through 2036.
Over two days at the airshow, PAL announced orders for Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners and additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, together with the engine selections and long-term service agreements that will support their operation.

– GE Aerospace GEnx-1B engines selected to power the Boeing 787-10 fleet
– 9 additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft with options for 5 more
– Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines selected for the A350-1000 fleet with TotalCare® agreement covering engine maintenance and health management
The agreements comprise up to 34 widebody aircraft. The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner jets will be delivered from 2031 to 2034, while the additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2034 to 2036.

The Farnborough announcements come after PAL’s recent milestones, including the introduction of two of nine earlier ordered Airbus A350-1000 into service, recognition by Cirium as the Asia-Pacific’s most on-time airline in 2025, its successful inaugural international bond offering, and the invitation to join the oneworld® alliance.
