Palace commends BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno following 2026 SONA

Following the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., where the Chief Executive highlighted his administration’s accomplishments, ongoing reforms, and policy priorities aimed at sustaining economic growth, strengthening governance, and improving the lives of Filipinos, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) received recognition from Palace Press Officer and Presidential Spokesperson Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro for its significant contributions to the administration’s achievements.

Speaking during a post-SONA interview, Undersecretary Castro emphasized that the Bureau of Customs has become one of the administration’s key performing agencies under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, noting that its accomplishments extend beyond what could be fully discussed during the President’s address.

The Palace spokesperson underscored the Bureau’s consistent performance in revenue collection, trade facilitation, digital transformation, and anti-smuggling efforts, recognizing these as among the administration’s notable achievements in advancing good governance and economic development.

Undersecretary Castro likewise acknowledged the Bureau’s positive transformation under President Marcos Jr. and Commissioner Nepomuceno, citing the agency’s sustained accomplishments and strengthened public service.

The BOC expressed its gratitude for the recognition from the Office of the President, describing it as an affirmation of the dedication and hard work of thousands of customs personnel across the country. The Bureau emphasized that every milestone achieved is the result of collective efforts to fulfill its mandate of collecting lawful revenues, facilitating legitimate trade, protecting the nation’s borders, and supporting the government’s broader economic agenda.

Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno likewise expressed his appreciation for President Marcos Jr.’s 2026 State of the Nation Address, reaffirming the Bureau’s full support for the President’s vision of a more efficient, transparent, and service-oriented government.

“The President’s State of the Nation Address reminds us that every reform we pursue and every peso we rightfully collect contributes to a greater national purpose.

Guided by the President’s vision for a Bagong Pilipinas, the BOC remains steadfast in delivering results that protect the country’s borders, facilitate legitimate trade, generate revenues for national development, and create lasting benefits for the Filipino people.
