In response to trip disruptions caused by ongoing inclement weather, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) through the Port Management Office (PMO) of Marinduque/Quezon has stepped up relief efforts to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers temporarily staying at the Port of Lucena’s Passenger Terminal Building (PTB).
On August 10, 2026, PMO Marinduque/Quezon, in close collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully distributed Ready-To-Eat Food (RTEF) packs to 155 stranded passengers awaiting travel updates.
Complementing these government relief efforts, private partner Starhorse Shipping Lines Inc. provided hot meals to passengers stranded at the terminal yesterday evening, August 9.
“Our top priority is the safety and welfare of all travellers affected by weather-related travel disruptions,” the PPA stated. “We are maintaining constant coordination with government agencies and private shipping partners to ensure our passengers receive necessary care, meals, and real-time support while staying at our terminal facilities.”
Relevant government departments and port authorities continue to closely monitor the situation and maintain open communication to address any further needs of the passengers inside the terminal.
The Philippine Ports Authority advises all affected passengers to monitor official PPA social media channels and communications for real-time announcements regarding port operations. Travelers are also urged to contact their respective shipping lines directly for updated vessel schedules and departure information.
