Lite Shipping launches M/V Lite Ferry Twenty to boost trade and tourism between Luzon and Western Visayas

Strategic maritime transport between Luzon and Western Visayas receives a major boost as the newly built Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessel, M/V Lite Ferry Twenty, officially enters service along the high-density Batangas City–Caticlan route.

Designed to accelerate the movement of people and essential goods, the vessel expands capacity on one of the country’s most vital sea corridors—connecting major agricultural and industrial centers in Luzon directly to the tourism and commercial hubs of Western Visayas.

Completed in January 2026, the 90-meter vessel drastically elevates supply chain reliability on the route by accommodating heavy rolling cargo alongside passenger traffic. Per single voyage, the M/V Lite Ferry Twenty is capable of carrying:

• 578 Passengers in spacious standard and tourist-class accommodations

• 30 Ten-Wheeler Trucks loaded with essential freight and goods

• 4 Passenger Vehicles

The added cargo capacity ensures uninterrupted product delivery across regions, reducing transit delays for critical supply chains.

In recognition of the ship’s advanced design and positive impact on domestic shipping routes, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) officially granted pioneering status to the M/V Lite Ferry Twenty.

Beyond expanded volume, the vessel incorporates modern maritime engineering focused on comfort and navigation safety:

• International Certification: Formally classified by RINA of Italy—a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS)—confirming full compliance with international standards for ship design, construction, and safety systems.

• Upgraded Accommodations: Features wider corridors, enlarged public spaces, and passenger amenities that exceed MARINA’s baseline regulatory requirements.
