Cebu Pacific reports strong growth in July 2026, domestic traffic leads surge

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, announced its operational results for July 2026, highlighting a robust performance driven by significant domestic demand and strategic capacity management across its international network.

In July alone, Cebu Pacific carried over 2.2 million passengers, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year. The airline reported a healthy overall seat load factor (SLF) of 84.4%, supported by a 6.2% growth in seat capacity.

Domestic Strength and International Efficiency: The domestic market served as a primary driver of growth, with passenger numbers rising by 9.1% year-on-year, achieving a domestic SLF of 84.5%.

On the international front, Cebu Pacific successfully optimized its route network. While international passenger volume saw an 8.6% decline, a disciplined 16.9% reduction in seat capacity led to a notable 7.6 percentage point improvement in international SLF, which reached 83.8%.

Year-to-Date Highlights: For the first seven months of 2026, Cebu Pacific has already flown over 16.7 million passengers, a 4.3% increase from the 16.0 million passengers recorded during the same period in 2025.

  • Domestic Passengers: Increased 5.5% to 12.6 million.

  • International Passengers: Grew 1% to 4.1 million.

  • Overall Capacity: Rose 9.3% to 20.5 million seats.

  • Year-to-Date SLF: Averaged 81.6%.

Future Outlook: “We delivered continued passenger growth in July, supported by a strong rebound in the domestic market,” said Xander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific. “Domestic traffic grew 9.1% year-on-year, reflecting resilient demand across our network. International traffic was lower but aligned with planned capacity reductions, which resulted in stronger load factors.”

Looking ahead, the airline is focused on expanding its footprint. “As we look toward the fourth quarter, we will be launching new flights across our network, including key destinations in China, Vietnam, and Japan to strengthen connectivity further while providing passengers with more convenient and affordable options,” Lao added.
