Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI), the major holding conglomerate of tycoon Dr. Andrew L. Tan, announced a robust financial performance for the first half of 2026, posting a net income of P16.0 billion. This represents a 3% increase from P15.6 billion in the previous year, net of one-time gains from the 2025 deconsolidation of Golden Arches Development Corp (GADC).
The Group’s resilient performance was propelled by a strategic pivot toward its most durable and high-value income streams: compounding property recurring revenue, a marked quality upgrade in its gaming and tourism operations, and steady sales and margin expansion in its global spirits portfolio.
Excluding the GADC deconsolidation impact, consolidated revenues grew 3% year-on-year to reach almost P90 billion, supported by stronger contributions from property leasing, growing non-VIP and non-gaming segments within its leisure business, and steady momentum in spirits. “In a demanding global environment, the strength of this Group is its mix. Our recurring property income kept compounding, our gaming business grew earnings even as the industry moved away from VIP play, and our spirits continued to grow on a stronger portfolio. Diversified, high-quality earnings are what carry us through cycles, and that is where we continue to invest,” said Kevin L. Tan, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGI.
Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc.
As the Group’s leisure and tourism arm and the owner-operator of Newport World Resorts (NWR), Travellers delivered AGI’s most improved earnings performance for the period.
-
Attributable Net Income: Nearly doubled year-on-year to P568 million.
-
EBITDA: Grew 13% year-on-year to P4.4 billion, bolstered by strict cost efficiencies and a higher-margin revenue mix.
-
Net Revenue: Reached P15.2 billion, as strong performance in the resilient non-VIP segment and high-growth non-gaming sectors easily offset a broader industry decline in volatile VIP volumes.
-
Non-Gaming Revenue: Rose 12% to P3.9 billion, supported by sustained high room rates and food and beverage sales across the NWR complex.
-
Gross Gaming Revenue (Non-VIP): Increased 6% to P9.6 billion, highlighting segment resilience and expanding contributions from digital channels.
With additional operational capacity from Westside Resorts Manila and Narra Palm Resorts and Villas scheduled to launch later this year, Travellers is strategically positioned to capitalize on this growth momentum.
Megaworld Corporation
The country’s premier township developer continued its steady upward trajectory, posting a net income of P12.7 billion (up 5% year-on-year) on consolidated revenues of P44.2 billion.
-
Hotel Revenue: Surged 11% to P3.1 billion, anchored by the successful opening of the 405-room Belmont Hotel Iloilo.
-
Mall Revenue: Grew 8% to P3.6 billion on solid tenant sales and an impressive portfolio occupancy rate of 95%.
-
Office Revenue: Advanced 5% to P7.8 billion, backed by a solid and stable roster of multinational locators.
-
Residential Pre-Sales: Jumped 15% year-on-year to P63.0 billion, highlighted by a strong 20% second-quarter increase to P33.3 billion driven by robust provincial township take-up.
Emperador Inc.
As the world’s largest brandy producer and a rapidly growing global Scotch whisky manufacturer, Emperador sustained its upward trajectory with consolidated revenues rising 5% year-on-year to P29.6 billion.
-
Brandy: Revenue rose 4% to P19.2 billion, while gross profit jumped 20% on the back of expanded margins, favorable product mix, and strategic pricing.
-
Whisky: Revenue grew 7% to P10.4 billion, accompanied by a 12% increase in gross profit, driven by surging international demand for its single malt portfolio.
-
Net Income: Stood at P3.7 billion for the period, reflecting continued strategic investments in brand positioning that pave the way for long-term multi-year profitability.
Looking ahead, AGI remains confident in its operational outlook.“We enter the second half with real momentum in our highest-quality businesses and a balance sheet built to support our growth plans,” Tan concluded.
