The Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) has added yet another prestigious recognition to its stellar 2026 fiscal performance. The award was presented during the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Collectors’ Conference held on August 13, 2026, at the historic Ayuntamiento Building, Bureau of the Treasury.
Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno formally presented the commendation to MICP District Collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera IV, celebrating the Port’s successful attainment of its July 2026 revenue target and its consistent track record of surpassing monthly quotas throughout the year.
For the month of July 2026, the Port generated an impressive ₱23,253,252,611.00, comfortably exceeding its assigned target of ₱23,177,509,224.00 by ₱75,743,387.00 (a 0.33% surplus).
A standout highlight of the month was a historic MICP milestone: nine (9) consecutive days of ₱1 billion-plus daily revenue collections, demonstrating extraordinary consistency across its operations.
Behind these figures lies the synchronized effort of MICP’s assessment, operations, administrative, and support offices, working hand-in-hand with external partner agencies and industry stakeholders to streamline the movement and processing of legitimate trade.
The commendation mirrors the core tenets of the Bureau’s Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) Program:
-
Integrity: Upholding ethical standards in all customs functions.
-
Accountability: Taking ownership of measurable fiscal results.
-
Modernization: Continuously upgrading systems and processes to drive reform.
Buoyed by the fiscal guidance of Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, the strategic vision of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, and the steadfast leadership of District Collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera IV, MICP views this recognition not as a final destination, but as a dynamic benchmark for the remainder of 2026. The Port remains fully committed to raising operational standards and fulfilling its vital revenue mandates for the nation.
