More than 200 American companies have invested over PHP400 billion cumulatively in various economic zones registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga disclosed this during a panel discussion with Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque and Board of Investments Managing Head Undersecretary Ceferino A. Rodolfo on the sidelines of the 2026 Philippine Business Mission on August 20.
The discussion focused on the performance of American companies operating in the Philippines, key market trends and emerging opportunities, as well as challenges and bottlenecks affecting their operations. It also explored potential areas for further investment and opportunities to strengthen and expand the presence of U.S. companies in the country.
Panga said American companies operating in PEZA ecozones employ approximately 380,000 workers.
He expects more U.S. companies to expand their presence in the Philippines as the U.S. government leads the Pax Silica Initiative in Clark. The United States is also a major participant in the Luzon Economic Corridor.
Echoing Roque’s statement during the event, Panga assured American investors that PEZA is ready to provide seamless, one-stop support and assistance to advance their initiatives, facilitate closer cooperation, and sustain the growth and expansion of their operations in the country.
Led by US-ASEAN Business Council President and CEO Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters (ret.), the 2026 Philippine Business Mission brought together a delegation of 35 U.S. companies for high-level engagements with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and senior Philippine government officials.
The event was held in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of U.S.-Philippines diplomatic relations, the mission reaffirmed the U.S. private sector’s commitment to supporting the Philippines’ economic development, digital transformation, and regional leadership.
