India’s Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has global operations including in the Philippines, today announced the acquisition of Porsche AG’s IT unit, MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (MHP), in a five-year strategic deal valued at USD1.5 billion (€1.25 billion).
Under the deal, TCS will acquire 100 percent of MHP, Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary. The proposed partnership and acquisition remain subject to regulatory approvals.
Headquartered in Germany, MHP has 4,500 employees worldwide, strengthening TCS’ existing capabilities in the automotive, manufacturing, and aerospace sectors.
As part of the deal, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Porsche to drive innovation across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and customer experience.
MHP brings strong automotive and industrial consulting and implementation expertise, with capabilities in business transformation, AI, SAP, manufacturing digitalization, and connected mobility. Its long-standing track record in delivering complex automotive and industrial transformation programs will complement TCS’ global scale and engineering capabilities.
K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services, said, “TCS is pleased to partner Porsche in its transformation journey.”
As AI, software, and data redefine the automotive industry, the partnership will combine TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering, technology, and business transformation with MHP’s automotive consulting expertise.
“Together, we will industrialize AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across the value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences of the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Porsche AG CEO Dr. Michael Leiters said the transfer of MHP to TCS is an important strategy that will allow Porsche to focus resolutely on its core business while gaining a strategic partner in TCS.
“By combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’ digital technology and AI capabilities, we will further strengthen our innovative power, increase efficiency, and boost our competitiveness in an increasingly data and software-driven world of mobility.”
Under the collaboration, TCS will scale AI execution and drive outcomes for Porsche. The CoE’s role will be to convert AI ideas into secure and scalable solutions that enhance velocity, operational resilience, and competitiveness across Porsche’s product and value chain.
TCS and Porsche will collaborate to embed AI across intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering, and customer experience. The partnership will leverage Porsche’s world-class automotive engineering and brand expertise, together with TCS’ capabilities in AI, product engineering, technology, and business transformation.
The collaboration is expected to create long-term value for both companies. TCS’ expertise will provide a strong foundation for scaling AI transformation and delivering business outcomes for Porsche’s organization and mobility ecosystem.
The five-year strategic business deal between Porsche and TCS will provide a strong foundation for delivering these outcomes.
For TCS, the acquisition of MHP is expected to strengthen its presence in the German market and among European automotive and industrial customers.
