Converge accelerates enterprise growth engine as Angeles Data Center secures national strategic investment status

Leading fiber broadband and technology solutions provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (PSE: CNVRG), through its digital infrastructure arm Pentagon Digital Global Corp., has secured a Green Lane Certificate of Endorsement from the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments (DTI-BOI) for its flagship Angeles Data Center in Pampanga.

Formally classified as a “Strategic Investment” under Executive Order No. 18, the designation fast-tracks regulatory clearances, directly accelerating Converge’s multi-billion-peso expansion into high-margin data center infrastructure, enterprise cloud compute, and carrier-neutral co-location.

By securing entry into the BOI’s Strategic Investment Priority Plan (SIPP)—the national framework reserved for high-impact infrastructure—Converge strengthens its position at the center of the country’s sovereign digital modernization. The Green Lane status unlocks dedicated investment facilitation, simultaneous multi-agency permit processing, and key account management, drastically reducing time-to-market for critical compute capacity.

“Securing Green Lane status for our Angeles Data Center underscores the vital role digital infrastructure plays in nation-building,” said Dennis Anthony H. Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge. “With this strategic designation, we are eliminating regulatory friction to deploy resilient, world-class compute capacity faster. This facility isn’t just expanding our enterprise portfolio—it is building the core digital foundation required to power the Philippines’ booming digital economy.”

The state-of-the-art facility in Angeles City, Pampanga, is fully integrated into Converge’s extensive nationwide fiber-optic backbone. Designed to meet rising enterprise demand for high-density computing, cloud workloads, and regional data storage, the Angeles Data Center transforms Converge from a high-growth broadband provider into an indispensable digital infrastructure platform.

DTI Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Dr. Ceferino Rodolfo Jr. noted that Converge’s investments align directly with national industrial priority goals, establishing infrastructure essential for long-term economic resilience.

“Investors are looking for predictability and ease of doing business, which is precisely what this endorsement provides,” added DTI Director and BOI Investments Assistance Center Head Ernesto De Los Reyes, noting that the Green Lane initiative now oversees ₱6.36 trillion in strategic developments.

Through streamlined permit processing and coordinated local government hand-holding, Converge will accelerate project milestones—ensuring rapid operational deployment to capture early enterprise demand and deliver long-term value for shareholders while advancing national digital transformation.

“As we continue advancing our technology initiatives, working closely with government partners like the DTI-BOI makes a huge difference in helping bring these strategic investments to life,” said Converge Chief Finance Officer Robert Leo Yu during the conferment of the certificate.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration – not only on the Angeles Data Center, but also on future projects that will help strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and drive long-term economic growth,” he concluded.
