BSP warns public against misuse of its name by “UNA Financing Corporation”

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has received reports that an entity calling itself “UNA Financing Corporation” is fraudulently using the BSP’s name, logo, and the identities of its officers and employees.

The scheme involves collecting fees and personal information under the false pretense of securing BSP clearance for loan releases.

The BSP categorically states that it has no affiliation with UNA Financing Corporation and does not authorize any individual or entity to collect money or sensitive information on its behalf. In the conduct of its official duties, the BSP and its personnel do not solicit fees or request personal data that could compromise financial accounts.

The public is strongly advised not to send money to unverified sources or engage with anyone falsely claiming to represent the BSP. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to law enforcement authorities for proper investigation and action.

To protect yourself, always verify the legitimacy of any organization claiming ties to the BSP.
