CITEM joins global exhibition leaders at 92nd UFI Global Congress, commemorating UFI’s centennial

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), announced its participation in the 92nd UFI Global Congress, held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

As an active and committed member of the Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, CITEM joins the international community in celebrating a historic milestone: UFI’s 100th anniversary. This year’s congress serves as a landmark gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators dedicated to shaping the future of the global exhibition and events sector.

The CITEM delegation is spearheaded by Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo and members of the CITEM Executive Committee. Their attendance underscores the agency’s commitment to continuous learning, strategic networking, and upholding the highest standards in international trade promotion for Philippine exporters.

“Participating in the UFI Global Congress is crucial for CITEM as we intensify our efforts to position the Philippines on the global trade map,” said Executive Director Ocampo. “Celebrating UFI’s centennial here is an inspiring experience. We are actively engaging with the world’s foremost experts to acquire fresh perspectives and adopt best practices that will directly benefit our country’s export promotions and exhibition portfolio, including premier events like Manila FAME.”

The CITEM team kicked off its first day with a comprehensive agenda focused on the industry’s most pressing and forward-looking topics. Key sessions and meetings included:

  • UFI Asia-Pacific Chapter Meeting and General Assembly: Strategic discussions on regional growth and collaboration.

  • Modern Fairs in an Analog World: Exploring the integration of digital tools with traditional exhibition formats.

  • Ideal MICE Destination Strategies: Gaining insights into developing competitive strategies for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE).

As CITEM continues to champion and strengthen the representation of Philippine ingenuity and products on the global stage, the delegation is utilizing the congress to:
