As a precautionary measure following the strong quake, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) announced the temporary suspension of all operations at the Port of General Santos to pave the way for thorough structural inspections.
In a public advisory, the PPA said the temporary suspension will last until after thorough structural inspections on the safety of the port’s facilities are completed at port operations.
Meantime, all port transactions will continue at the Port Sa Port Integrated Clearance Office (PICO) covered court.
The public is further advised to wait for further official announcement by the PPA.
