In a major move to accelerate the government’s digital transformation, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza met with Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda on June 16, 2026.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening coordination for current BIR digital initiatives and exploring future collaborations powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
During the meeting, Secretary Aguda affirmed the DICT’s commitment to supporting the BIR’s modernization efforts. Key discussion points included finalizing the Bureau’s onboarding to the National Single Window and leveraging cutting-edge, AI-assisted development tools to fast-track project implementation. The DICT also offered to conduct specialized demonstration and training sessions for the BIR team to drive broader system upgrades.
Commissioner Mendoza welcomed the partnership, emphasizing that closer inter-agency collaboration directly aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to make government services more accessible and user-friendly.
“The Digital TIN ID in the eGovPH App and our other ongoing initiatives with DICT show the value of sustained coordination, especially as Digital Transformation anchors the BIR DARES agenda,” Commissioner Mendoza stated. “We welcome DICT’s continued assistance and look forward to further collaboration on technologies that can help accelerate project implementation in the years ahead.”
