The National Government and the Bangsamoro Government have deepened their collaboration on regional energy development following the successful conclusion of the 13th Intergovernmental Energy Board (IEB) Meeting.
The IEB is a key platform that keeps the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) central to the Philippine Energy Plan. Moving beyond mere coordination, the board provides a collaborative space where both governments actively craft energy policies tailored to local realities and unique regional development needs.
“The IEB is where dialogue leads to decisions, building the trust that makes inclusive and sustainable development real, and turning energy security into meaningful and lasting benefits for the Bangsamoro people,” said Secretary Sharon S. Garin
Key focus areas of the partnership:
-
Tailored Policy Crafting: Developing energy frameworks that directly address the specific socio-economic conditions of the Bangsamoro region.
-
Unified Energy Strategy: Integrating BARMM’s resource potential into the broader Philippine Energy Plan to bolster national energy security.
-
Sustainable Development: Prioritizing inclusive energy projects that spur local economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents.
The successful conclusion of this 13th meeting underscores a mutual commitment to long-term stability, resource sustainability, and economic empowerment, transforming shared energy goals into tangible progress for the Bangsamoro people.
