“Discover new ideas, agri-innovations at Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines expo”—DA

Co-organizing the country’s premier event for livestock, poultry, aquaculture, meat, and feeds industries for the ninth year, the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) enjoins the public to discover and share new ideas, best practices, technologies, and innovations as modern farming solutions by visiting the Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines 2026 expo which started on June 24 to 26 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay City.

During his special guesting in the Maunlad na Pilipino, the DA’s official radio program every Saturday at 702 DZAS AM band, Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. Constante J. Palabrica highlighted the importance of the three-day event as a showcase of cutting-edge technologies, a platform for networking and market linking with fellow agricultural stakeholders, and an avenue for knowledge exchange.

“Ang Livestock Philippines ay hindi lamang expo. Isa itong komprehensibong platform para sa capacity building, innovation adoption, at industry development na makatutulong upang makamit ang number one aim ng gobyerno: food security at sustainable livestock production,” Usec. Palabrica elaborated.

He further added that the Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines is a golden opportunity for farmers, fisherfolk, small agripreneurs, and agriculture-based cooperatives and associations to learn all about the latest trends in the global agriculture scene for free and without having to leave the country.

“Everyone—from farmers, animal breeders, processors, feed millers, veterinarians, entrepreneurs, students—will definitely learn and benefit from this event. This is why I also encourage people from the DA to also visit and participate—because there are so many things that they can learn from it, and you can only transfer technology if you know it,” he added.

Apple Kay Limbo, Senior Event Manager of the Informa Markets in the Philippines, also emphasized the vital role of the expo in providing business owners—both backyard and commercial—with access to information and technologies that are relevant to the success of their chosen ventures.

“Informa Markets, as a business-to-business trade event organizer, is bridging the public and private sectors. This forms part of the tagline of Informa Markets: we bridge businesses and people. That is also what we are aiming for in this expo,” she explained.

Limbo also acknowledged the full support that Informa Markets received from the DA Family during its nine years of strong partnership, as evident in the Department’s active participation throughout the expo.

This year, the DA Pavilion features 11 agencies—the National Livestock Program, Bureau of Animal Industry, National Dairy Authority, National Meat Inspection Service, Philippine Carabao Center, Agricultural Training Institute, International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries, Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards, Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, and Halal Food Industry Development Program—to bring their services closer to the people.

Experts from the DA Family agencies, mostly from the Livestock Group, also joined the two-day Livestock Conference on June 24 to 25 with topics including animal health, biosecurity, access to financing, environmental sustainability, processing, and more.

For the first time, the DA-Bureau of Plant Industry, in coordination with the Department’s Agriculture and Fisheries Information Division, also showed support by showcasing and distributing vegetable seeds and herb planting materials in the DA Pavilion.

The Department also took part in evaluating nominated farmers and cooperatives for the Livestock Philippines Recognition, which aims to honor outstanding members of the industry whose remarkable feats have contributed to the development of the Philippine livestock and poultry industries.
