SORSOGON CITY – LANDBANK and the Provincial Government of Sorsogon have strengthened their long-standing partnership through a series of milestone initiatives aimed at accelerating digital transformation, expanding financial inclusion, and driving sustainable development across the province.
The two parties engaged in a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held at the Sorsogon Provincial Capitol on 25 June 2026, for the Provincial Government’s enrollment in LANDBANK’s Link.BizPortal, the inauguration of a new LANDBANK Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and a high-level courtesy meeting to map out future collaborations.
Leading the activities were Sorsogon Governor Jose Edwin B. Hamor and LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz. They were joined by Provincial Administrator Franco Eric O. Ravanilla and LANDBANK Executive Vice Presidents Marilou L. Villafranca and Charlotte I. Conde, alongside other key provincial and Bank officials.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to modernize public service delivery and make financial transactions more accessible, efficient, and secure for every Sorsoganon. By combining digital innovation with sustained development support, we are helping local governments like Sorsogon deliver better services while opening more opportunities for their communities,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Ortiz.
A key highlight of the engagement was the Provincial Government’s onboarding to the Link.BizPortal, LANDBANK’s digital payment platform that allows local government units (LGUs) to accept online payments for taxes, permits, and other government dues. This marks a significant transition from manual, cash-based transactions to a secure, transparent, and convenient digital payment system, ultimately enhancing the ease of doing business in the province.
Complementing this digital push, LANDBANK unveiled a new ATM strategically located at the Provincial Capitol to serve over 4,200 provincial government employees and nearby government agencies. The ATM is equipped with cardless withdrawal functionality via the LANDBANK Mobile Banking App (MBA), offering users a safer and more seamless way to access their funds.
Beyond everyday banking services, LANDBANK reaffirmed its role as a premier development partner of the province, backing Sorsogon’s long-term growth agenda anchored on inclusive and sustainable development. During the visit, both parties explored expanded collaborations on priority initiatives, including potential financing for a province-wide sanitary landfill project designed to upgrade waste management and environmental sustainability across all 14 municipalities.
This bolstered alliance underscores LANDBANK’s unwavering commitment to advancing financial inclusion and countryside development by equipping LGUs with digital tools, accessible banking services, and strategic financing support.
With Sorsogon positioned as a key economic gateway in the Bicol Region, this collaboration is expected to enhance competitiveness, improve service delivery, and unlock more opportunities for its estimated 845,000 residents.
