Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz joined leading regional policymakers, financial regulators, and technology executives at the ASEAN Tech Summit Manila 2026, held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City.
The two-day summit, organized by the FinTech Alliance.ph under the leadership of its Founding Chair, Lito Villanueva, focused on accelerating a secure, resilient, and inclusive digital economy across the ASEAN region.
Delivering an industry insight presentation titled “From Exclusion to Empowerment: The Digital Pathway for the Underserved,” PCEO Ortiz outlined LANDBANK’s strategic push to leverage modern technology to bridge the nation’s financial divide. She emphasized how targeted digital interventions—such as accessible mobile banking, zero-fee payment schemes, streamlined digital onboarding, accelerated government aid disbursements, and AI-driven solutions—are crucial in integrating unbanked and underserved Filipinos into the formal financial system.
“Digital transformation is more than an operational upgrade; it is a vital tool for economic empowerment,” Ortiz stated during her presentation, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to delivering inclusive banking services nationwide.
FinTech Alliance Philippines Chair and RCBC Executive Vice President Lito Villanueva opened the summit by highlighting the necessity of cross-border collaboration to secure the region’s digital ecosystem. In his welcome address, Villanueva stressed the critical roles of robust digital infrastructure, elevated cybersecurity measures, and ethical innovation in building ASEAN’s shared digital future.
The ASEAN Tech Summit Manila 2026 brought together key sector leaders to foster public-private partnerships, align cross-border fintech initiatives, and drive sustainable growth throughout the Southeast Asian region.
