The Department of Migrant Workers-National Capital Region (DMW-NCR) awarded a total of ₱3.3 million in financial assistance to 64 qualified Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families during a distribution ceremony held today at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong City.
Led by DMW-NCR Regional Director Atty. Ace Falconi V. Millar, the initiative delivered immediate relief to repatriated and distressed workers. Depending on their specific qualifying category and financial needs, individual beneficiaries received grants of either ₱50,000 or ₱75,000.
The financial aid is drawn from the AKSYON Fund, an integral component of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s UPLIFT Program. The initiative aims to provide returning, distressed, and vulnerable OFWs with the safety net needed to address immediate daily expenses and launch sustainable livelihood projects back home.
“Our relationship does not end here,” said Regional Director Atty. Millar during his address to the recipients. “If there is anything else we can serve you with, or if you need assistance from other government entities, our office remains open. Whether it is DSWD, TESDA, DTI, or your local government unit, we are ready to endorse and guide you to the right agencies.”
Recognizing that successful reintegration extends beyond one-time financial aid, DMW-NCR reiterated its commitment to inter-agency coordination. Beneficiaries requiring skills training, business development, social welfare, or community-level assistance will be directly connected to key partner agencies, including:

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for psycho-social and family assistance.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for vocational training and upskilling.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for micro-enterprise guidance and business startup support.

Local Government Units (LGUs) for community-based reintegration programs.
