In a groundbreaking achievement, CHIMBUSCO Jiangsu has successfully refueled China’s first 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship with 150 tons of methanol fuel. This vessel, built by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry in Yangzhou, marks a significant milestone in the country’s maritime industry.

The refueling operation was meticulously planned and executed through close collaboration between CHIMBUSCO Jiangsu and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Yangzhou. Together, they developed China’s first “methanol refueling design plan for terminal tank trucks” specifically for large container ships and secured the necessary approval certificate from the China Classification Society.
