Clark International Airport Corp. welcomes new transportation Secretary Vivencio Dizon, eyes aviation growth

The Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) warmly welcomes the appointment of Transportation Secretary Vivencio B. Dizon, recognizing his dynamic leadership as a key driver in advancing the development of CIAC’s Clark Aviation Capital.

“CIAC congratulates and welcomes Secretary Dizon as the new Chairman of the CIAC Board of Directors. His extensive experience as a transportation and infrastructure leader makes him the ideal figure to propel CIAC’s development initiatives. We look forward to his guidance in transforming Clark Aviation Capital into a premier aviation and logistics hub,” CIAC President Jojit Alcazar said.

Alcazar also expressed gratitude to former Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista for his leadership and contributions as CIAC’s chairman.

Dizon, known for his visionary approach to infrastructure development, previously served as President of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). During his tenure, he spearheaded the rapid development of New Clark City’s sports complex in just 18 months, ensuring its completion in time for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. New Clark City stands as the country’s first smart, green, and sustainable metropolis.

In addition, Dizon played a crucial role as the Presidential Adviser on Flagship Programs and Projects under the Build, Build, Build initiative. His expertise in large-scale infrastructure development is expected to significantly benefit CIAC’s ongoing and future projects.

“His leadership and vision will be instrumental in shaping the 2,367-hectare Clark Aviation Capital into a thriving hub for aviation, logistics, and commerce,” Alcazar added.

As Transportation Secretary, Dizon will also assume the role of Chairperson of the CIAC Board of Directors. Under his leadership, CIAC is set to accelerate major aviation infrastructure projects, including the development of a direct access link to Clark International Airport, a multi-modal transport hub, and the enhancement of open spaces, parks, and airport roadways.

Dizon will also oversee the continuation of key transport initiatives, such as the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), which will enhance connectivity between Clark International Airport, New Clark City, and Metro Manila. Notably, he was instrumental in the development of Clark International Airport’s New Terminal Building, further solidifying his commitment to the region’s growth.

“With Secretary Dizon at the helm, we aim to fast-track these transformative projects that will drive economic growth and elevate Clark’s status as a world-class aviation and business hub,” Alcazar concluded.
