In a pivotal move to boost trade and investment relations between the Philippines and Jordan, a business-to-business (B2B) matching event was held at the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), connecting Filipino exporters with Jordanian importers, wholesalers, and distributors.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Jordan, led by Ambassador Wilfredo Santos, and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, provided a dynamic platform for businesses from both countries to forge trade links and explore partnership opportunities.
In his keynote address at the opening program at the ACC auditorium, Ambassador Santos emphasized that the Outbound Business Matching Mission to Jordan underscores the Philippines’ commitment to exploring new trade and investment opportunities while strengthening partnerships with key markets like Jordan.
The program featured a presentation by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), highlighting sourcing opportunities in the Philippines. This included a spotlight on the country’s competitive advantages in the agri-food and personal care sectors, showcasing its diverse export offerings.
The 12-company Philippine business delegation, comprising 21 representatives, was formally introduced, providing their Jordanian counterparts with insights into the products and services they offer. A key event highlight was the delegation’s dedication to signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, along with the establishment of a Philippines-Jordan Business Council. This collaboration aims to promote sustained business engagements between the two countries.
Following the opening program, the B2B meetings took place, where Filipino exporters directly interacted with Jordanian businesses, all members of the ACC. These discussions explored trade opportunities and potential strategies for market entry.
Additionally, side meetings involving the DTI, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Dubai, and the Chamber explored future collaborative efforts to maintain the momentum of the business mission.
The success of the Outbound Business Matching Mission to Jordan generated significant interest in Filipino food and personal care products, with several supply agreements signed between Philippine and Jordanian businesses. This event further underscores the Philippines’ resolve to expand the global presence of its industries, foster innovation, and drive sustainable growth.
