Cebu Pacific partners with DMW to build OFW processing center at Mactan aiport

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, has joined forces with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC) to develop an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Processing Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal 2.

The new facility will simplify the processing of key travel documents, such as Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs), for departing and returning OFWs. Construction of the center is scheduled to begin this March, with operations slated to commence by the end of the second quarter of 2025.

“We acknowledge the significant contributions of OFWs to our economy and the importance of providing them with easy access to essential services. This collaboration is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the air travel experience for overseas Filipino workers,” said Candice Iyog, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Cebu Pacific.

The DMW has expressed full support for the project, emphasizing its commitment to delivering more efficient and accessible services to OFWs.

“This partnership goes beyond the construction of a facility; it’s a symbol of our deep appreciation for the invaluable contributions of OFWs. The center will serve as a one-stop service hub, offering vital resources and creating a space where OFWs and their families can find support, community, and a VIP experience,” said DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac.

As a key international hub, Cebu continues to serve as an essential gateway for Filipinos seeking opportunities abroad. The establishment of the OFW Processing Center further strengthens Cebu Pacific’s commitment to providing not just affordable air travel, but also practical solutions to address the unique needs of the overseas Filipino workforce.

Looking ahead, Cebu Pacific will continue to collaborate with government agencies and private partners to improve services for OFWs, reinforcing its role as a trusted airline partner to the millions of Filipinos working abroad.
