Francisco Motors’ green jeepney model receives endorsement for transport modernization

The push for a greener transportation future in the Philippines received a significant boost recently as Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez inspected Francisco Motors Corporation’s (FMC) newly developed, environmentally sustainable jeepney model at the House of Representatives.

During the inspection, Speaker Romualdez, along with FMC Chairman Elmer Francisco, President and CEO Dominic Francisco, and key figures from transport groups, underscored his dedication to strengthening Filipino vehicle manufacturers as the nation advances its transport modernization initiatives.

Francisco Motors Corporation has set its sights on global expansion, aspiring to be the pioneering Filipino automotive brand in the new energy vehicle market. The company’s mission is to provide the commuting public with safer and more comfortable rides while maintaining affordability on a global scale.

FMC’s commitment to local economic growth is evident in its substantial investments: Php 1.32 billion in advanced assembly facilities and Php 206.62 million in parts manufacturing.

The company’s manufacturing plant is responsible for producing critical metal fabricated parts, such as vehicle bodies and chassis components. The assembly plant boasts cutting-edge painting capabilities, including a recently implemented CED coating and topcoat line.

Operating on a single shift, the FMC plant currently has an annual production capacity of around 12,000 units, with the flexibility to scale up production through additional shifts as needed.
