PNP declares 2025 national and local elections peaceful and orderly nationwide

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that the 2025 National and Local Elections concluded peacefully across the country, with no major incidents reported.

Following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure secure, fair, and orderly elections, PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil lauded the successful coordination between the PNP, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), and other government partners.

“We stood firm in upholding the President’s call for peaceful elections. The Filipino people deserve to vote without fear or disruption. From preparation to execution, our personnel remained vigilant and committed to protecting the democratic process,” said Gen. Marbil.

While minor issues such as technical glitches with Automated Counting Machines (ACMs), delays in precinct openings, and voter list inconsistencies were reported, these were promptly addressed by election authorities. None of these incidents posed a threat to public safety or disrupted the overall electoral process.

In total, 205,136 government personnel were deployed nationwide to support election operations. This included 163,621 PNP officers, 3,698 Special Electoral Board members, and 37,817 augmentation forces from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other agencies.

The PNP also responded to isolated reports of liquor ban violations and alleged vote buying. Investigations are ongoing, and the PNP affirms its commitment to uphold the law and ensure accountability for any election-related offenses.

“This achievement goes beyond maintaining peace—it reaffirms the right of every Filipino to vote freely and without intimidation,” Gen. Marbil emphasized. “We will remain on full alert until the last vote is canvassed and the people’s will is honored.”

The PNP urges the public to remain vigilant and report any post-election irregularities through its official hotlines and communication channels.
