PCC to host global competition conference

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) is set to host the 25th International Competition Network (ICN) Annual Conference in 2026, bringing together competition authorities from around the globe to strengthen competition enforcement, share best practices, and promote policies that enhance market competition for the benefit of consumer welfare.
The selection of the Philippines as the host country was announced during the closing session of the 24th ICN summit held in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 9 (Manila time).
With over 140 competition authorities from some 130 member countries, the ICN serves as a vital network for facilitating international cooperation and promoting the adoption of best practices in competition policy globally.
“The PCC is excited to welcome the world to the 2026 ICN conference! This event is a great opportunity to accelerate our collective effort for effective competition law enforcement, safeguarding businesses, consumers, and economies globally. As hosts, we will highlight the crucial work of competition authorities internationally and reinforce our unity in tackling global challenges,” PCC Chairperson Michael Aguinaldo said.
To be held in Manila on May 6 to 8, 2026, the 25th ICN Annual Conference will feature discussions on emerging antitrust trends, enforcement strategies, and regulatory reforms.
As the country’s lead antitrust agency, the PCC enforces the Philippine Competition Act (PCA) to promote fair competition and protect consumer welfare. The PCA empowers the PCC to address anti-competitive practices, prevent abuse of dominance, and review mergers and acquisitions. The PCC also represents the Philippine government in international competition matters.
