BCDA, ALI ink 25-year lease contract for Camp John Hay technohub

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a 25-year contract with property giant Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), for the lease of the John Hay Technohub (also known as Ayala Technohub) in Camp John Hay, Baguio City.

Under the contract, which was signed on May 16, 2025, ALI will pay BCDA PHP600 million over the 25-year lease period.  BCDA said that the new lease rate is 5  percent higher than the previous contract.

Before BCDA regained control of Camp John Hay, ALI’s contract for the technohub was with Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo), former operator of Camp John Hay.

“This partnership ensures that business continues to thrive smoothly while we build a stronger, brighter future for all. It reflects the deep trust and confidence that respected companies like Ayala place in government. At BCDA, we are living up to our promise to keep Camp John Hay a place where great things happen,” BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang said.

The technohub currently employs 3,000 BPO workers.

Bingcang noted that ALI has been instrumental in shaping the John Hay TechnoHub, not only for developing a conducive business process outsourcing building but also vibrant retail clusters.

He also cited that ALI has been able to raise land value by an average of 14 percent on all its property developments across the country.

Since it recovered Camp John Hay property from CJHDevco in January this year, the BCDA bagged over PHP1.4 billion in investments from new commercial and residential lease agreements, signaling strong investor confidence in the organization’s track record.
