PLDT Inc. unveils inaugural combined annual and sustainability report

PLDT Inc. (PLDT), the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telecommunications network,  today announced the release of its inaugural combined Annual and Sustainability Report during its recently concluded 2025 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting. This landmark report seamlessly integrates the company’s business performance with its comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) highlights.

Titled “AI and the New Generation of Leaders,” the PLDT 2024 Annual and Sustainability Report articulates the company’s perspective on the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). It details PLDT’s ongoing commitment to investing in critical digital infrastructure, generating sustainable value for its diverse stakeholders, fostering the development of a new generation of leaders, and diligently upholding responsible business practices across all operations.

The comprehensive report, which received thorough review and approval from the company’s Board of Directors through its Governance, Nomination, and Sustainability Committee and Audit Committee, meticulously chronicles PLDT’s operational milestones throughout the past year. It also encompasses the performance of its key subsidiaries, including Smart Communications, Inc., ePLDT, Inc., VITRO, Inc., PLDT Global Corporation, and Multisys Technologies Corporation, alongside its associate company Maya Philippines, Inc., and its social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation.

Demonstrating its unwavering dedication to global best practices in ESG performance and disclosures, PLDT’s annual and sustainability report adheres to a robust array of internationally recognized frameworks. These include the Global Reporting Initiative Standards, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures, the Ten Principles of United Nations Global Compact, and the GSMA ESG Metrics for Mobile. Furthermore, the report features an Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report and provides valuable insights into the PLDT Group’s significant contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Adding another layer of credibility and transparency, the report also incorporates audited financial statements and critical ESG disclosures that have been independently assured by SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. (SGV), a distinguished member firm of Ernst & Young International Ltd.

This inaugural combined report stands as a powerful testament to PLDT’s continuous alignment with global standards for ESG performance and transparency. As a testament to this commitment, PLDT is one of only 780 companies worldwide and holds the distinction of being the sole Philippine company to be included in the prestigious S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025.
