Century Pacific Food and Vita Coco renew partnership in PHP 14 billion deal

Century Pacific Food, a leading food company in the Philippines, has renewed its long-term manufacturing agreement with The Vita Coco Company, Inc., the global leader in coconut water. This five-year contract, valued at approximately Php 14 billion, is set to commence in January 2026, reinforcing a successful decade-long collaboration.

The extended partnership will continue to bolster the Philippine economy, supporting 4,500 quality manufacturing jobs in General Santos, Mindanao. Both companies have also reaffirmed their commitment to working together on critical initiatives, including sustainability goals, health and safety standards, environmental performance, and ethical practices.

Noel Tempongko, Jr., Vice President and General Manager of CNPF’s OEM Coconut business, expressed enthusiasm about the renewal: “We value our long-standing relationship with Vita Coco—a win-win partnership that has grown meaningfully over the past decade. We are pleased to extend our collaboration and look forward to scaling our collective impact across both our businesses, our consumers, and the communities we serve.”

This renewal follows a significant incremental agreement signed in 2024, which covered an additional 90 million liters over five years. That deal prompted further capacity investments by CNPF, including the acquisition of Coco Harvest, Inc., and contributed to the creation of over 1,500 manufacturing jobs in Misamis Occidental, Mindanao.

CNPF’s strategic alliance with Vita Coco began in 2012, marking its entry into the coconut category. Since then, CNPF has expanded its product offerings and grown to become one of Vita Coco’s largest suppliers, renowned for consistent product quality and reliable service. The accelerating demand driven by health and wellness trends has fueled significant growth for both partners over the past decade, leading to a 50% capacity expansion by CNPF in 2022 to meet increasing volume requirements.

Jonathan Burth, Chief Operating Officer of The Vita Coco Company, commented: “We are pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Century Pacific. Our organizations share a common mission around quality, sustainability, and community impact—and together, we look forward to driving innovation, fueling growth, and creating lasting positive change.”

Both Century Pacific and Vita Coco have demonstrated a sustained commitment to supporting local smallholder coconut farmers. They have invested in programs designed to boost farm productivity, improve livelihoods, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of the coconut industry.

In 2022, Century Pacific, in collaboration with GCash and impact organization HOPE, completed the planting and donation of 1 million coconut trees to smallholder farmers in Mindanao. The company further solidified its commitment with the launch of “Save Our Coconuts,” a program pledging an additional hundred thousand coconut seedlings to smallholder farmers through Coco Mama, CNPF’s coconut milk brand.

Similarly, in 2023, Vita Coco launched “Seedlings for Sustainability,” a global pledge to provide up to 10 million coconut trees by 2030 to partner farming communities.

Collectively, the two companies have supported more than ten thousand smallholder farmers in the Philippines and donated over 1 million coconut seedlings to date, underscoring their shared dedication to community and environmental stewardship.
