At least seven German companies engaged in renewable energy solutions are exploring concrete cooperation during business to business meetings with Philippine firms.
The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines (REAP) hosted a Conference on German Technologies for Renewable Energy Integration in the Philippines at Shangri-La Makati on 24 June 2025. The conference was part of a broader German business mission focused on fostering collaboration in the field of renewable energy, smart-grid, and storage solutions. Around 70 stakeholders, including industry leaders, regulatory experts, and public sector representatives, participated in the conference.
The German firms include SMA Altenso GmbH, SkySails Power,Reprocon GmbH, Fichtner GmbH, BAE Batterien, H2 Core Systems, and Blueberry Energy
“As the country diversifies its energy mix, German companies have a valuable opportunity to contribute through advanced technology, engineering expertise, and collaborative ventures that unlock the full potential of the Philippine energy sector,” said GPCCI Vice President Mr. Tristan Arwen G. Loveres. “We are proud to provide a platform where German innovation and Philippine energy priorities can meet. We arranged around 68 B2B meetings to initiate concrete cooperation.”
The event also featured a keynote address by Usec. Rowena Guevara, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy who spoke on The Role of Smart Grids and Energy Storage in the Philippines’ Sustainable Energy Transition.
“Our drive for energy transition will not only build sustainable energy infrastructure for future generations, but we will also reap the economic benefits of retaining a highly skilled workforce in the country.” said DOE Undersecretary Rowena Guevara “The DOE shares this outlook in the hope of attracting committed climate financing, because this is how we secure a clean and reliable energy future for the next generation.”
