LTO issues urgent public warning against fake LTMS portal phishing scam

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued a strong, urgent public advisory to warn citizens about a rapidly spreading phishing scam utilizing a fraudulent Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) Portal website. This malicious attempt is designed to trick users into divulging sensitive personal and financial information.

The LTO stressed that this is a sophisticated phishing operation primarily disseminated through unsolicited text messages. These deceptive messages typically contain a fake notification regarding an alleged arrest or traffic violation and include a clickable, malicious link that directs the unsuspecting recipient to the counterfeit LTMS Portal website.

The LTO strongly reiterates its official protocol: the agency does not send text messages containing links related to traffic violations, alleged arrests, or mandatory fee payments. Any message claiming to be from the LTO that contains a clickable URL regarding these matters is highly likely to be a scam.

The public is urged to be vigilant and adhere to the following steps to ensure their security and the legitimacy of the transaction:

To ensure that the website you are using is appropriate and legitimate, always manually type the official URLs into your browser or use the official social media channels:

  • LTMS Portal Official Website: https://portal.lto.gov.ph/ords/f?p=1200:HOME::::::
  • LTO Official Website: https://lto.gov.ph/
  • LTO Official Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LTOPhilippines

If you receive a suspicious text message or encounter any form of online communication purporting to be from the LTO with an attached link:

  1. DO NOT CLICK on the attached link.
  2. DO NOT INPUT any personal information, login credentials, or financial details.
  3. IMMEDIATELY REPORT the incident to the LTO’s dedicated hotline, AksyON THE SPOT.

REPORT SCAMS HERE: AksyON THE SPOT Hotline: +63 929 292 0865

The LTO is coordinating with relevant law enforcement agencies to track down the perpetrators of this digital fraud and protect the integrity of its official systems.
