The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced the successful completion of its second surveillance audit for ISO 9001:2015, conducted by Certification International Philippines, Inc. on August 19-20, 2025. This achievement formally reaffirms LRTA’s sustained dedication to upholding world-class quality management standards for the operations and maintenance of its Line 2 system.
LRTA Line 2 first secured the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification on July 11, 2023. By passing this latest audit, the agency demonstrates a proven track record of maintaining excellence and continuous improvement for over two consecutive years.
The successful audit verifies that the LRTA’s Quality Management System (QMS) is fully aligned with rigorous international standards, underscoring the organization’s effective practices in areas critical to public service, including customer focus, organizational leadership, decision-making processes, and risk management. The QMS is designed to ensure the LRTA proactively addresses potential risks and consistently meets the evolving needs of its riding public.
This commitment to high operational standards directly supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure the efficient and sustainable operations of the country’s rail transport systems.
“We are proud of this re-certification, which affirms LRTA’s unwavering commitment to quality,” said LRTA Administrator Hernando T. Cabrera. “This reflects our mission to enhance mobility and deliver a safe, inclusive, and service-oriented mass transport system.”
The LRTA remains dedicated to setting and maintaining exemplary standards in public transportation. This continued certification is a tangible pledge to provide Filipino commuters with safe, reliable, and high-quality services.
