PAL elevates Manila-Puerto Princesa service with Airbus A330 widebody operations

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier, is significantly upgrading its service on the key Manila–Puerto Princesa route with the re-launch of widebody operations, utilizing the advanced Airbus A330-300 aircraft. This strategic deployment is set to boost both leisure and business travel to Puerto Princesa, the vibrant capital city and gateway to Palawan.

The PAL A330-300 provides a substantial increase in capacity and offers a superior travel experience. The aircraft is configured with a total of 363 seats, designed to cater to diverse traveler needs:

  • 18 seats in Business Class

  • 33 seats in Comfort Class

  • 312 seats in Economy Class

“Utilizing our widebody fleet on flights to Puerto Princesa will enhance operational efficiency, improve overall customer satisfaction, and also provide Palawan residents more opportunities to explore the Philippines and the rest of the world,” said Capt. Roland Narciso, PAL Senior Vice President for Operations Group. “We have been working closely with airport authorities for a smooth transition to widebody operations in Puerto Princesa.”

The widebody service will commence on December 17 and operate three times weekly—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Route Departure Arrival Frequency
Manila (MNL) to Puerto Princesa (PPS) 5:30 AM 7:00 AM Mon, Wed, Fri
Puerto Princesa (PPS) to Manila (MNL) 8:10 AM 10:00 AM Mon, Wed, Fri

This deployment enhances connectivity, allowing passengers originating from select international destinations to easily connect to Puerto Princesa via PAL’s Manila hub, maximizing convenience and travel flexibility.

To celebrate the re-launch, PAL is offering its lowest one-way base fare for the Puerto Princesa route, starting at just PHP 688, making travel to the gateway of Palawan more affordable than ever.

Moreover, the deployment of the A330s will significantly boost cargo capacity, supporting increased freight movement and providing greater opportunities for businesses to ship goods efficiently between the national capital and Palawan.

Puerto Princesa is famously known as the gateway to the world-renowned Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. With its lush landscapes and diverse wildlife, the city continues to attract nature lovers, adventure seekers, and travelers from across the globe.
