Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque commended Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) for advancing the government’s employment goals by inaugurating its latest food commissary in Guinsay, Danao, Cebu. She highlighted the company’s role in fulfilling President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s mandate during her speech at the event. Roque specifically thanked Jollibee for generating opportunities that uplift local communities.
“This commissary is a massive win for Danao and the entire province of Cebu. Every new commissary Jollibee opens represents more jobs, more security and more growth for our local industries.” She added, “As we open more commissaries, we are also encouraging more investments in our country while strengthening our supply chain as well. And this is what the President really wants.”
Launched today, January 8, 2026, this fourth Cebu hub—construction began in May 2023—serves Jollibee and six of its 13 brands as the 12th nationwide. The advanced site supplies stores throughout Visayas and Mindanao, optimizing logistics for southern expansion.
JFC Philippines President Joseph Tanbuntiong emphasized the commissary’s importance for efficient distribution and area development at the ribbon-cutting. He leads JFC’s domestic operations, drawing on his experience in supply chains and farmer programs.
The project creates hundreds of positions, bolsters operations beyond Luzon, and strengthens regional food supply resilience. It aligns private investment with public priorities, fostering growth in Danao.
In a small-group meeting with Tanbuntiong, Sec. Roque encouraged Jollibee to continue opening new commissaries, creating more job opportunities for workers and other direct and indirect industries that will benefit from such facilities. She likewise committed to provide whatever support the company would need to realize such task.
