DTI courts Supermicro to explore PH investment opportunities

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is courting Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro), a global technology leader, to explore specific trade and investment opportunities in the Philippines.
DTI’s Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Silicon Valley (PTIC-SV) recently led a high-level visit to Supermicro, a global technology leader in enterprise, cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), metaverse, and 5G Telco and Edge IT infrastructure, where Trade Commissioner Kristine Umali presented specific trade and investment opportunities, positioning the Philippines as a strategic business location in the Asia-Pacific.
She cited the country’s expanding data center ecosystem, emerging AI sector, and investor-friendly reforms. Supermicro executives, in turn, shared the company’s global technology roadmap and discussed potential areas of collaboration with the Philippines, particularly in AI, digital infrastructure development, semiconductor support industries, and advanced manufacturing.
Through this visit, PTIC-SV reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country’s presence in the global technology ecosystem. The visit deepened engagement with Supermicro and its technology partners and enhanced the Philippines’ broader efforts to attract strategic and technology-driven investments, grow high-value manufacturing, and strengthen the country’s position as a competitive hub for digital-enabled sectors.
