OceanJet announces temporary fuel surcharge adjustments for selected routes

In response to the sustained and significant rise in global fuel costs, OceanFast Ferries, Inc. (OceanJet) today announced a temporary fuel surcharge adjustment for specific routes, effective March 16, 2026.

This strategic decision comes after an extensive internal review of the company’s fuel contingency measures. The adjustment is designed to ensure the continued delivery of the high-speed, reliable service that “Jetters” have come to expect, despite the volatile energy market.

While OceanJet has absorbed much of the rising costs over the past several months, the continuing daily increase in fuel prices necessitates this short-term measure. We want to emphasize that this is not a permanent fare hike; it is a temporary surcharge that will be removed as soon as fuel prices stabilize at baseline levels.

“We understand that any price adjustment is a burden for our passengers,” the company stated. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and wish to assure our travelers that we remain committed to providing safe and efficient sea travel while managing these external economic pressures.”

Starting March 16, 2026, the following fare structures will apply to the specified routes:

Route (v.v.) Tourist / Open Air Business Class
Cebu – Ormoc PHP 1,320 PHP 1,900
Cebu – Maasin PHP 1,320 PHP 1,900
Maasin – Surigao PHP 960 PHP 1,440
Cebu – Getafe PHP 540 PHP 960
