The Department of Energy (DOE) recognized Nestlé Philippines for its continued commitment to power its locally manufactured products with 100% renewable energy—setting a strong example for sustainable manufacturing in the country.
Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin, together with Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, met with Nestlé representatives to further strengthen collaboration on expanding renewable thermal energy across its manufacturing sites nationwide.
Nestlé highlighted its ongoing climate commitments, including the use of renewable thermal energy, sustainable packaging, and decarbonized supply chains. Among its key initiatives is an 18-ton-per-hour biomass boiler project in Cabuyao, Laguna, set for commercial operations by Q3 2026.
Secretary Garin emphasized that such efforts not only reduce industrial emissions but also support the country’s broader push for renewable energy and a low-carbon future—demonstrating how industry leaders can drive both sustainability and growth.
