Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the temporary suspension of its flight operations between Manila and Riyadh (RUH), effective immediately through April 8, 2026.
The suspension affects flights PR 654 and PR 655 (Manila-Riyadh-Manila). This precautionary measure is being implemented in response to the evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East, which has created operational uncertainties regarding regional airspace corridors and airport safety.
“The safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains Philippine Airlines’ highest priority,” the airline stated. “Given the current fluid environment, we have determined that suspending these services is the most prudent course of action. We are closely monitoring developments and coordinating with global aviation authorities to determine when normal operations can safely resume.”
PAL recognizes the significant impact this suspension has on travelers, particularly Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who depend on these routes to connect with their families. To minimize disruption, the airline is offering the following options for passengers with affected bookings:

Free Rebooking: One-time rebooking once regular flight operations resume.

Travel Credits: Conversion of the full ticket value into travel credits for future use.

Full Refund: A 100% refund of the ticket cost, in accordance with airline policies.
Passengers are encouraged to manage their bookings via the PAL website, contact center, or official ticket offices.
The suspension also extends to PAL Cargo operations on the Riyadh route. The airline’s logistics team is currently working with global partners to explore alternative routing options to ensure the continued movement of essential goods and shipments during this period.
The current suspension period through April 8, 2026, reflects PAL’s immediate operational planning horizon. The airline will continue to review the situation daily and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
