MARINA to host PHILMARINE 2026 to strengthen shipbuilding, ship repair industry

The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) is set to gather key stakeholders of the maritime sector for a technical conference aimed at strengthening the country’s shipbuilding and ship repair (SBSR) industry.

The Maritime Technical Conference will be held on 17 June 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, as part of the 11th PHILMARINE 2026.

With the theme “Steering the SBSR towards a Safe and Sustainable Maritime Future through Innovation, Cooperation, and Sharing Responsibilities,” the event will focus on advancing collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in the maritime sector.

MARINA says the conference will bring together maritime professionals, shipbuilders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and global industry standards.

The agency emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen the Philippines’ shipbuilding and ship repair sector and enhance its competitiveness in the global maritime industry.

The conference is expected to serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing and coordinated action toward a safer and more sustainable maritime future.
