AirAsia shares essential tips for stress-free summer travel, highlights new “Seat Together” and baggage savings

As the summer travel season reaches its peak, AirAsia Philippines is reaching out to the Filipino traveling public with a suite of reminders and smart-packing solutions. Recognizing Filipinos’ travel habits—traveling in large groups, carrying multiple gadgets, and the tradition of bringing home pasalubong—AirAsia aims to make every journey smooth, affordable, and organized.

To help guests navigate the busiest travel window of the year, AirAsia highlights the following key reminders:

Travelers are encouraged to pre-book baggage and add-ons at least two hours before departure via the AirAsia MOVE app or the official website. This proactive step allows guests to avoid significantly higher last-minute charges at the airport counter.

  • Generous Checked Allowance: AirAsia offers check-in options ranging from 20kg to 60kg. Uniquely, there is no limit on the number of bags checked, provided the total weight stays within the purchased limit.

For the safety of ground crew, individual bags must not exceed 32kg.

  • Upgraded Cabin Space: Standard guests are entitled to two cabin items totaling 7kg. For those needing more overhead space, the Xtra Carry-On option allows for up to 14kg, with prices starting as low as Php 360 when pre-booked.

  • Fragile Items: While glassware and electronics are accepted, guests are reminded to pack them securely, as these items are carried at the owner’s risk.

For many Filipinos, the journey is just as important as the destination, especially when traveling with family or the barkada. AirAsia is making it easier for groups to stay connected in the air.

“Traveling is best shared. With our ‘Seat Together’ option, groups can enjoy up to 50% savings compared to booking individual seats, ensuring that the fun begins the moment you step on the plane,” says AirAsia Philippines.

  • Check-in Early: Use the AirAsia MOVE app to skip the long lines.

  • Review Your Add-ons: Ensure your baggage allowance matches your pasalubong plans.

  • Document Check: Keep IDs and digital boarding passes readily available.
