In a major push to streamline frontline services and support the livelihoods of Filipino maritime professionals, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) has officially opened appointment slots for the Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) and Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) through December 2026.
To address the high demand and reduce waiting times, MARINA’s Manpower Development Service (MDS) has allocated the following daily slots across its Central Office, regional branches, and satellite offices nationwide:
| Transaction Type | Daily Slots Available |
| Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) | 320 |
| Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) | 320 |
| Combined SRB & SID Transactions | 375 |
In addition to the standard weekday schedule, MARINA Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan announced that the MARINA Central Office has opened additional appointment slots every Saturday, effective from March until June 2026. This extension is specifically designed to accommodate seafarers who may have tight schedules during the work week.
“We understand the urgency and the sacrifices of our seafarers who rely on these documents for their livelihood. Kaya ginagawa po natin ang lahat para mapabilis ang proseso at mabawasan ang abala sa kanila,” Administrator Malaluan stated. “We assure our seafarers that MARINA continues to improve our systems and expand our capacity to better serve them.”
MARINA is taking a firm stand against illegal activities that exploit applicants. The agency strongly urges the public to avoid scalpers and unauthorized individuals who offer “paid assistance” for appointment slots.
Important Security Reminders:
-
Zero Fees: Securing an appointment slot through the official MARINA system is free of charge.
-
Official Channels Only: Applicants should only use the official MARINA online portal or coordinate through licensed manning agencies and shipping companies.
-
Illegal Transactions: Engaging with third-party fixers is illegal and may result in the compromise of personal data or the issuance of invalid documents.
“We remind our seafarers: huwag po kayong makikipagtransact sa mga scalpers,” Malaluan added. “The integrity of our system is paramount, and we are doing everything to ensure a fair and transparent process for every applicant.”
These service expansions are part of MARINA’s broader commitment to modernization and its mission to provide efficient, transparent, and accessible services to the “heart” of the global maritime industry—the Filipino seafarer.
