The future of regional transportation is officially on track. On June 18–19, 2026, the inaugural ASEAN Railway Conference (ASEAN RailCon 2026) will convene as a landmark online technical exchange, uniting the brightest minds in the sector to build a safer, smarter, and more sustainable railway network across the continent.
As the region reaches a critical turning point in infrastructure development, ASEAN RailCon 2026 serves as a strategic platform for all 11 ASEAN Member States—including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam—as well as key development partners.
The conference arrives at a pivotal moment as the sector addresses global energy volatility and the urgent need for low-carbon solutions. ASEAN RailCon 2026 is designed to tackle these challenges head-on through four primary pillars:
-
Safety & Reliability: Modernizing systems and enhancing technical competencies to ensure world-class standards.
-
Energy Resilience: Implementing sustainable, low-carbon technologies to mitigate the global energy crisis.
-
Regional Interoperability: Breaking down technical and regulatory barriers to create a seamless, integrated ASEAN network.
-
Workforce Development: Cultivating the next generation of railway experts through comprehensive training and certification.
Attendees can expect a high-impact agenda featuring real-world case studies and policy breakthroughs. A major highlight of the event will be the introduction of the ASEAN Railway Training Network Platform (ARTNP), a collaborative initiative designed to foster long-term partnerships and human capital development.
The conference will conclude with the publication of a Knowledge Compendium, a definitive collection of technical papers and strategies that will serve as a blueprint for the region’s railway future.
