Demonstrating its commitment to fostering a predictable and investor-friendly business environment, the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI), through its Investments Assistance Service (IAS), officially launched the “Board of Investments – Awareness Seminar to Strengthen Investors and Stakeholders” (BOI-ASSIST) program.
Centered on the theme “Collaborative Governance for a Stronger Investment Climate—Advancing Resilient Investment Retention and Sustainable Expansion,” the initiative brought together approximately 130 investors, industry stakeholders, and key government partners. The collaborative event was organized alongside the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
The BOI-ASSIST seminar serves as a comprehensive platform to equip existing and prospective investors with crucial insights into updated government policies, administrative remedies, and ease-of-doing-business reforms designed to support long-term enterprise growth.
Opening the event, BOI-IAS Director Ernesto Delos Reyes Jr. underscored the agency’s shift toward proactive, long-term investor care and strategic partnership.
“We aim to provide investors with comprehensive guidance on how to revive, retain, expand, or diversify their investments with a special focus on long-term resilience and sustainability,” said Director Delos Reyes Jr. “We recognize that our investors are not just seeking incentives; they are seeking clarity, predictability, and partnership. And that is what we intend to offer.”
To address key operational and regulatory concerns, inter-agency partners presented concrete updates:
-
Customs Administrative Remedies: Mr. Julius Herald B. Altiche, Deputy Collector for the Port of Batangas (BOC), briefed participants on navigating customs processes and administrative solutions to streamline supply chain logistics.
-
Ease of Doing Business Reforms: Mr. Eric L. Matnog, Division Chief at ARTA, detailed recent government-wide regulatory improvements aimed at eliminating bureaucratic red tape and simplifying business transactions.
By actively aligning policies across key revenue, regulatory, and trade agencies, the BOI-ASSIST initiative reinforces the Philippine government’s whole-of-nation approach to maintaining a highly competitive, resilient, and transparent investment ecosystem.
