LANDBANK and Visa launch digital government purchase card to modernize public procurement

Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) and global digital payments leader Visa officially launched the Government Purchase Card (GPC) during a joint ceremony today at the LANDBANK Plaza in Malate, Manila.

Designed as a secure and fully digital payment solution, the GPC aims to streamline public procurement processes, strengthen financial oversight, and foster greater accountability and transparency across government spending.

By digitizing procurement transactions, the GPC replaces traditional, paper-heavy processing methods with end-to-end digital tracking. This innovation enables government agencies to manage purchasing budgets with enhanced efficiency, real-time transaction visibility, and tighter fraud protection controls.

The ceremonial launch brought together executive leadership from both organizations:

  • LANDBANK Representatives:

    • Marilou L. Villafranca, Executive Vice President

    • Catherine Rowena B. Villanueva, Senior Vice President

    • Kristine Marie G. Cuevas, First Vice President

    • Ma. Hazel A. Santos, Vice President

  • Visa Representatives:

    • Jeffrey Navarro, Country Manager, Visa Philippines

    • Gareth Parrington, Head of Commercial Solutions, Southeast Asia

    • Azrin Azlina Anuar, Head of Visa Government Solutions, Asia Pacific

    • Rio Mayuga, Head of Visa Sales, Philippines
