5 IT-BPM projects to locate in NCR

Five pending applications with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) are the first to benefit from the lifting of the moratorium on IT Parks-Centers expansion projects in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque identified the projects following the issuance of Administrative Order No. 45, amending AO 18 that imposed the ban in 2019.

The IT Parks/Centers with pending PEZA application are the following:

1. Altaire (Developer/operator: MJ Landtrade Development Corporation)

2. One Trium Tower (Developer/operator: Triumvariate Development Corporation)

3. ARCA South 1 (Developer/operator: Ayala Land, Inc.)

4.  Parqal (Developer/operator: Aseana Holdings Inc.)

5. The Yuchengco Centre (Developer/operator: San Lorenzo Ruiz Investment Holdings and Services, Inc.)

By lifting the moratorium under AO 45, the Philippines has reopened the capital to the establishment and expansion of IT centers and IT parks in the NCR and encourage  more investments, generate more jobs, and strengthen Metro Manila’s position as the country’s leading information and communications technology hub.

The order also seeks to expand employment opportunities by promoting investments that enhance productivity, in line with the Marcos administration’s 8-Point Socio-Economic Agenda.

With the moratorium lifted, AO 45 directed PEZA to evaluate and process all applications for IT centers and IT parks in Metro Manila.
