The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in partnership with the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and the Social Security System (SSS), has officially extended the LRT-2 Piso Fare Cashback Promo through August 31.
The initiative aligns with direct orders from the President to make public transportation more affordable while accelerating digital payment adoption for faster, more seamless commuter travel. Originally scheduled to conclude on July 31, the extended program provides continued financial relief to thousands of daily rail passengers.
“We are grateful to RCBC and SSS, as well as Finance Secretary Frederick Go, for extending this peso fare cashback promo for LRT-2 passengers,” said Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez. “This is a big help to commuters because the fare savings they will get can now be used for other essential needs, such as school supplies, food, or medicine.”
