BCDA and StB GigaFactory spearhead sustainable energy initiatives in New Clark City other BCDA properties

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with StB Giga Factory, Inc. to develop renewable energy generation, energy storage, and e-mobility infrastructure across New Clark City and other BCDA-managed properties.

The 12-month agreement tasks BCDA with providing site access, project data, and administrative support, while StB Giga Factory will carry out site surveys, feasibility studies, and financial modeling to produce actionable recommendations for clean energy deployment.

StB Giga Factory, located at the Filinvest Innovation Park in New Clark City, is the Philippines’ first manufacturer of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company currently employs 500 workers and plans to expand its workforce to 2,500 by 2030.

The partnership aims to integrate utility-scale renewables, energy storage, and electric mobility into New Clark City’s infrastructure framework. BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the collaboration supports the agency’s broader vision of positioning New Clark City as a hub for sustainable, technology-driven urban development.

The signing was attended by StB Giga Factory CEO Dennis C. Ibarra, Business Development Manager Ruth G. Butalid, and BCDA Vice President for Investment Promotions and Marketing Erwin Kenneth R. Peralta.
